Following the success of its inaugural event last year, Women in Real Estate Business Breakfast is hitting the road and visiting two new cities in 2018.

The event is the brainchild of Brisbane-based agent and coach Sherrie Storor, who has been working in the industry since 2002.

Women in Real Estate Business Breakfast will once again be held in Brisbane but will now also be held in Melbourne and Sydney.

The first event was held in Brisbane in 2017 after Ms Storor noticed that there were not enough events that showcased the success of women in the industry.

“We have 65 per cent of our industry [that] is female-oriented, but that’s not exactly presented on the stage. So, this year’s theme is celebrating female skill set and achievement. I want women to learn from other women and be inspired by other women,” Ms Storor said.

Ms Storor explained that they also encourage men to attend these events because it takes everyone in the industry to make changes.

“The reason I am doing these events is that I am really keen to make changes in this industry. If we have everyone supporting each other, that’s the only way, we can make change,” the agent said.

“Whether you’re male or female there is going to be marketing, inspiration, some selling strategy and there’s going to be some career advice. So, it really doesn’t matter if you’re male or female, that’s generic information.”

Ms Storor is the event’s keynote speaker and will be asking the audience, “Are we presenting ourselves to be taken seriously?”

The keynote will cover how real estate agents present themselves, particularly how they present themselves on social media.

“People now have an attention span of seven seconds. We have seven seconds to grab their attention, so we must change the strategies we use on social media,” Ms Storor said.

The event will be held in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne and will feature an impressive line-up of 14 different speakers.

“They are all amazing, unbelievable women who have just achieved unbelievable things in their careers and in this industry,” Ms Storor said.

Each event will have two keynote speakers and then four other presenters. Some of the big names speaking include Kylie Farr and Nerida Conisbee from REA; Sadhana Smiles, the CEO of Harcourts Victoria; Leanne Pilkington, director of the board REINSW; Karuna Dimelow, the COO of Coronis; and many more names.

The breakfasts will be held at different locations and “promise to be a morning of glitz and glamour and inspiration”.
