A new product launched for real estate professionals promises to streamline and improve the referral process.

Rex, a software product house, has launched Hitch to help agents track, record and facilitate referrals.

Hitch was developed to connect sellers, buyers and tenants with the services and providers they need and help to reduce the admin overhead.

Anton Babkov, the CEO of Rex, said that they saw a gap in the market for agents who struggled with the referral process.

“While some agents were really benefitting from referring business, plenty had stories of being burnt by referrals when the providers didn’t do a great job for the client, leaving the agent to clean up the mess,” Mr Babkov said.

Mr Babkov said that a breakdown of communication often caused headaches for everyone involved, while other people just didn’t have the time to deal with the process.

“Many agents had experienced a breakdown in communication between referrer, provider and client, while others simply didn’t have time to deal with all of the manual processes and legal requirements.

“We built Hitch to deal with that.”

Mr Babkov said that Hitch could help all agents provide a better service to their clients and generate more business.

“Great service means positive impressions for clients, referrals and repeat business — which are critical for a market that must raise the bar to fend off competition from tech players,” the CEO said.

Hitch has partnered with a large provider base to offer to clients, but also gives agents the opportunity to add in their own connections.

“We wanted to use our position to negotiate better referral fees for our users. Hitch can also work with agent’s own providers, to help automate and streamline those relationships,” the CEO said.

Mr Babkov said that the app was designed to be a one-stop shop for buyers’ and sellers’ property-related needs.

“We want our users to be able to offer the best and most broad range of services that will help their clients in the process of buying, selling or rent. We want to help agents create brilliant experiences for their clients,” Mr Babkov said.
