Boutique agency Stone Real Estate has been named as a finalist in two prestigious REB Awards categories, while one of its youngest agents has received a third nomination recognising excellence in sales.

Stone is a finalist for both Boutique Network of the Year – 39 Offices or Less and Innovator of the Year, while Stone Manly’s 31-year-old agent Eddy Piddington is a finalist for Sales Campaign of the Year.

Stone head of franchise Luke Cameron said that being named a finalist in both of those particular categories validates Stone’s “forward-thinking” approach and the introduction of its one-client database model.

“The one-client database has been a hugely successful move and [has] streamlined property transactions as never before,” Mr Cameron said.

Mr Cameron added that the database was a driving factor in Stone’s recent rapid growth; the number of its offices tripled in the last year alone, as the unique structure allowed franchisees to grow in a way traditional agencies do not.

“Not only has Stone’s growth been among the fastest of any agency to date, every new office without fail has opened with top-tier talent at the helm.

“There is no denying we consistently attract the best, brightest and most respected agents in whichever region we enter.”

The Sales Campaign of the Year award for which Stone Manly’s Mr Piddington has been nominated recognises the best individual sales campaign in the country and is a huge accolade for such a young up-and-coming agent.

Mr Piddington said that to be recognised among “this calibre of agents” is “truly epic”.

“This year’s entrants to [the] REB Awards have been nothing shy of exceptional,” Mr Piddington said.

“The REB Awards [is] the pinnacle of real estate accolades, and I am just so grateful to my incredible team and Stone who have contributed to making this all possible.”

REB managing editor Tim Neary said that the REB Awards is the biggest event of the year in Australian real estate.

The awards recognise and reward those (like Mr Piddington) who are driving real estate in Australia into the future.

In 2015 and 2016, Stone doubled its office count, and in 2017 and 2018, the agency almost tripled in size again. It has plans to open a further six offices by December.

The REB Awards winners will be announced at The Star, Sydney, on Thursday, 19 July 2018.
