Two young property professionals have put together a new online information hub covering the latest innovations in property technology.

In June, Nick Bouris and Thom Richards launched www.proptechpulse.com.au, an online hub that analyses the cutting-edge technology that is shaping the real estate industry in Australia and across the globe.

Mr Bouris believes that PropTech Pulse fills an information gap as it is dedicated solely and specifically to delve into the tech evolution of the industry. Mr Bouris and Mr Richards are also close to launching Managed, their new property management platform that hits the real estate market in August.

Mr Bouris told REB: “Thom and I have spent the last 18 months researching, refining and building a new platform for property managers, investors and tenants. We’ve been immersed in the proptech space and we’re naturally fascinated to hear about what others have built and how that’s impacted their marketplace.

“There isn’t anything dedicated specifically to talking about proptech in Australia, so we decided to create our own forum for discussion, news and opinion.

“There are significant technological changes taking place right now that can empower agents and also potentially leave them behind. We want to deliver our audience an insight into the very latest innovations so forward-thinking agents can capitalise on opportunities as they arise.”

PropTech Pulse offers its audience a mix of news, interviews, podcasts and opinion. Topics range from the impact of AI on real estate to the groundswell of funding that is flowing into the burgeoning proptech space.

As well as interviews and content produced by the hosts, the site also links with other sites that deliver valuable insights and opinion for Australian real estate professionals. The heart of PropTech Pulse is the weekly podcast, and the hosts have already chalked up a number of frank and insightful broadcasts with some of the industry’s top disrupters.

According to Thom Richards, the podcasts have been as valuable to the host as they believe they are for their audience.

“We’ve already had some fascination insights into the businesses that are already changing the face of real estate in Australia,” Mr Richards said.

“We are not pulling punches. Every time we do a podcast, we don’t shy away from asking our guests the tough questions: what supports their model, how it makes a buck and what impact it’s had on the marketplace.”
