The OBrien Real Estate Foundation has officially launched to enable the group to give back to their local community.

The charitable foundation has already raised over $110,000 for people living with motor neurone disease (MND) and aims to raise money for MND and many other causes in the future.

Director of OBrien Real Estate and foundation founder Stavros Ambatzidis said that the foundation would give the agency a chance to work together towards a brighter future.

“The foundation will be all of us working together to improve the lives of people in our local communities,” the director said.

MND was the first recipient of funds from the foundation as Mr Ambatzidis has been involved with MND Victoria for several years.

“I have been very involved with MND Victoria, which I know [supports the fight for] a disease that has touched many in this room, including myself,” Mr Ambatzidis said.

Mr Ambatzidis added that OBrien was always willing to give back to the community and that it was an important value to the group.

“We love seeing the positive impacts our sponsorships have on our local communities and we believe that giving back is extremely important,” the director said.

Launching the OBrien Real Estate Foundation would enable the agency to create positive change in the community.

“Now it’s time for our brand to take on the next steps towards creating a better environment for those in need,” the director added.

One of the foundation’s council members, Alex Dacakis, said that it was an honour to be a part of the new charity.

“It’s an absolute privilege and honour to be a part of something that will increase and strengthen our contribution to the local community,” Mr Dacakis said.

The foundation will raise money through regular activities as well as by participating in larger events like the Kokoda Track, Stadium Stomp and coastal walks.

The foundation will also receive $50 from every property sale by the group.
