Professionals Real Estate Group has appointed a new chief executive officer as the group embarks on a major restructure.

David Crombie, previously CEO of an Australia real estate co-operative, has been announced as the new CEO as Professionals moves from a state-based structure to a central operation.

Mr Crombie said that his primary goal was the unification of the national group.

“My short-term goals for the network are to lead it through the move to a national organisation from the previous state-based structure and putting in place the necessary governance, systems and teams to increase the levels of service nationally,’’ the CEO said.

Mr Crombie said that the unification would allow for a better service to all of its members.

“The outcome will be a stronger brand and the creation of a stronger base, allowing for better delivery of initiatives and servicing of the members.”

One of the advantages of Professionals, according to the CEO, is that it is a membership group and that it acts as a support network for its members.

“We provide the members with the ability to use a well-known real estate brand and access to extensive support through a comprehensive suite of tools and services,” Mr Crombie said.

Mr Crombie added that its membership structure allows members to direct the way their business is run.

“The real differences are that the members have the opportunity to drive the direction of the organisation rather than being dictated to and the membership fees are much more attractive than franchise fees,” Mr Crombie explained.

Professionals, which was founded by six independent real estate agents, now has over 225 offices, making it one of the largest networks in the country.
