Leading residential agency McGrath Estate Agents has taken another step forward in its recovery plan to replace and revive its company sales performance with the strategic appointment of a regional sales leader to its Sydney businesses.

McGrath has announced that James Hayashi has joined the company in a newly created role of regional sales leader for its high-performing sales team located across Sydney’s eastern suburbs footprint.

Mr Hayashi brings more than 13 years’ experience across many sectors of the real estate landscape, from sales and auctioneering to recruitment and sales management.

Head of company sales for McGrath Kon Stathopoulos said that this was a considered and important appointment.

He said that it has been met with “much enthusiasm” within the three offices under the eastern suburbs footprint: Edgecliff, Coogee and Maroubra.

“When searching for someone to lead such an experienced and high-performing sales team, we were committed to finding a person of outstanding calibre that would without a doubt add value to each of our agent’s businesses.

“James will provide the leadership, support and coaching required for our current sales teams, and will be charged with growing our agent numbers across the three offices.

“James comes to us with a wealth of real estate experience, having worked himself as an agent and more recently as a coach and sales manager. He’s an outstanding auctioneer, having been trained by Damien Cooley, and I believe will be a great addition to the incredible talent pool we have with our exclusive auctioneers.”

Mr Hayashi said that he was attracted to McGrath by its current leadership and management team, and by the company’s focus on learning and development.

“McGrath is a truly iconic and respected brand, and this is a fantastic opportunity for not only my own personal development, but where I’m provided with the support systems necessary to drive internal growth and focus on external recruitment.”

He said that he plans to “hit the ground running”.

In addition to his tenure at Cooley Auctions, Mr Hayashi has also worked at Bresic Whitney, and most recently for three years at PPD.
