Two Gold Coast agents have made the move to LJ Hooker to lead its newly launched Burleigh Beach office.
Danny O’Donnell and Adam Van Leeuwen, formerly of Realty Blue, will be joint partners in the latest venture in Gold Coast’s southern market.
Mr O’Donnell and Mr Van Leeuwen sold over $60 million worth of property in the past year across the Burleigh Heads and Miami markets.
LJ Hooker state director Stephen Mutton said that the duo’s move to the national network was symbolic of a changing market.
“Real estate is changing: APRA (Australian Prudential Regulation Authority) has clamped down on the investor market, the Hayne royal commission will likely make owner-occupiers leap through more hoops when it releases its February report, and there are far more players competing for the same slice of the market,” Mr Mutton said.
Mr Mutton added that professionals like Mr O’Donnell and Mr Van Leeuwen recognised how a national network could fast-track their career.
“David and Raymond have managed to grow their own group to five real estate businesses in four years, and Danny and Adam are excited about taking the newest addition to the stable forward, at a pivotal time in the marketplace.”
The new LJ Hooker office at Burleigh Beach will be a sister agency of the offices in Burleigh Waters, Robina and Mudgeeraba, which is operated by David Manby and Ramond Pienaar.
Mr Manby said that the Burleigh Heads strip had recorded a 10.7 per cent growth over the past year, according to CoreLogic data, and was attracting interstate migrants.
“The Gold Coast has a long history of attracting cashed-up southern migrants, and with Sydney and Melbourne now past the peak of their property cycle, we’re going to see an influx of owner-occupants arriving here for the sought-after lifestyle,” Mr Manby said.
Mr Manby added that the new office led by Mr O’Donnell and Mr Van Leeuwen was perfectly positioned to provide real estate options for the influx.
“Embarking on this new era with Danny and Adam at the helm positions LJ Hooker Burleigh Beach as the leading provider of real estate solutions in a growth period.”
