A new social comms platform has launched on Sydney’s Central Coast, said to be the fusion of a traditional property listings portal and a social media platform.

Realty.com.au is a a social media network for the homemaker.

Marketing and communications manager Craig Russell said that the new platform offers a number of extra features.

“Traditional property listing portals offer a place to research, but Realty.com.au takes that further by offering a destination to engage, a dynamic lifestyle channel of inspiration.”

Mr Russell said that the goal of Realty.com.au is to “inspire and engage” homemakers throughout the entire life cycle of creating a home.

“Realty.com.au provides sellers, influencers and brands [with] a platform to instantly make their listings and content a social media hero to a relevant audience.

“Users can search for properties while simultaneously be inspired by content, products and services across a wide range of categories tailored for the homemaker. The platform offers functionality to save, share and discuss their favourite inspirations privately, with family and friends, whether looking for a rental, a property to buy or new cushions for the lounge.”

Mr Russell said that the platform provides agents and developers with “automated shareable elements” from their listings.

“To allow for more efficient dissemination across their other social media profiles to enhance engagement,” Mr Russell added.

“With the average Australian spending less than an hour on a property listing website per month, but more than 63 hours ‘online’, Realty.com.au aims to leverage this behaviour with a multichannel approach to content distribution.”

He said that Realty.com.au blends the local layers of engagement to reach targeted buyers quickly.

“Realty’s existing digital footprint covers the eastern seaboard of Australia from Bondi to Bundaberg in key residential markets with 500 agencies signed on for a trial.”
