Professionals Real Estate Group will open an office in the rising Adelaide Hills and Mount Barker regions.
Co-principal of the new office, and Adelaide property valuer, Paul De Gilio said that the area is “exploding” in popularity with young families.
He said that with Adelaide’s growth being constrained by its geographic location, the Mount Barker region had been earmarked by the state government for residential expansion.
“With St Vincent Gulf to the west and the hills to the east, Adelaide has traditionally grown to the north and the south,” Mr De Gilio said.
“However, in 2010 the state government identified Mount Barker as part of Adelaide’s urban land supply to accommodate the population growth of Adelaide for the next 15 years.”
Mr De Gilio said that under the plan, Mount Barker and Nairne could supply up to 7,000 new residences.
“The area is attracting new home buyers and families looking to expand,” Mr De Gilio said.
“The nearby South Eastern Freeway means it is only 40 minutes to the CBD, so it’s an attractive commute.
“Added to that, you have the traditional housing market in the Adelaide Hills, which is one of the state’s most prestigious real estate precincts.”
Mr De Gilio, who will open the office with co-principal John Kennedy, said that having the backing of one of Australia’s top real estate groups was a huge bonus for the pair.

Professionals CEO David Crombie said that the Adelaide Hills office would make a great addition to the team.
“Certainly, Paul and John bring a lot of real estate credibility to the table, so we are hoping for some exciting news out of this office,” Mr Combie said.
“Mount Barker and the Adelaide Hills are hugely popular areas for both new families and first home buyers or for established home owners looking to upgrade.”
Mr Crombie said that Professionals continues to grow its agency network, aided by its unique membership model.
