One rising niche network in Victoria has made significant progress in its 2019 growth ambitions, opening six new offices in the first quarter of the year.

The Barry Plant Group has opened six new offices in Melbourne and regional Victoria in the first quarter of this year.

The group has opened offices in Shepparton, Nagambie and Tatura in regional Victoria, building on strong recent results in Mildura, Ballarat and Bendigo.

All three new offices are headed up by Matt Chilcott, an experienced local agent who had previously been operating under his own banner.

The fourth is in Melbourne’s fast-growing northern suburbs, in the suburb of Northcote. Loretta Khoo, ranked as one of REB’s Top 50 Women in Real Estate in 2017, and Jim Dimitropoulos from the current Barry Plant Preston office will head up the office.

The fifth is in Mill Park and will service the Mill Park and South Morang areas. This office is headed up by David and Jay Moxon and Lisa Reginato, who are also involved in the Barry Plant Bundoora and Greensborough offices.

In the southern suburbs, the sixth is a new super office in Mentone, to service the Cheltenham and Mentone areas. This office is under the leadership of Michael Care, who currently is the director of the Mordialloc office.

Barry Plant CEO Mike McCarthy said that this reflects the continued trust vendors, investors and agents have in the network’s brand.

“Despite slower conditions over the past year, we strongly believe investing in growing our brand, our agents and our network is the right strategy to take advantage of the ‘green shoots’ we have seen over January and February.

“With promising results across the network, including increasing auction clearance rates and greater numbers of buyers at open for inspections, we feel that there’s much to be optimistic about for the year ahead.”

Mr McCarthy said that the group takes a measured approach to office growth, ensuring cultural fit and a mindset of growth and improvement.

The six additions take the total number of Barry Plant offices around the state to 78.
