Century 21 Australasia has announced the appointment of a new CEO as it looks to lift its brand and prepare for growth amidst the changing landscape of real estate in Australia.

Warren McCarthy is the new Century 21 Australasia CEO.

Mr McCarthy is well experienced, having worked in real estate for 35 years, mainly with LJ Hooker where he spent 21 years.

He said the global rebrand appealed to him.

“The brand refresh and the extensive marketing campaign with Channel 7, together with the proprietary CRM system, are key elements that will allow the Century 21 business to grow and develop in the immediate future.”

Mr McCarthy said that he brings a fresh mindset to the group, and that his mission is simple.

“To build on Century 21’s obsessive focus on the customer, both within the C21 network and with the public.”

Chairman of Century 21 Charles Tarbey said that Mr McCarthy is well regarded in the industry.

“We are very fortunate to have Warren join Century 21, where he will help us leverage the brand and system superiority we have built over the past 24 months to drive revenue growth for our franchisees.”

Mr Tarbey said that he will continue to operate within the business as chairman, overseeing the team and the franchisees alongside Mr McCarthy “to ensure consistency, growth and support, for the offices are kept as the utmost priority”.

Century 21 overhauled its brand and logo last year to reposition the network for the new era after nearly 50 years of operating.

Mr Tarbey said at the time that the new identity was a part of the brand’s evolution in the region.

“The new brand is built around our new standard of defying mediocrity and delivering extraordinary real estate experiences to consumers.

“The new logo pays homage to the iconic nature of the Century 21 brand across the world but also points to the future with a fresh and vibrant outlook.”

Mr Tarbey also said that the new shortened C21 logo is designed to project a modern image and better reflect how consumers describe the brand.

“It was also pleasing to see that the logo will be shortened to C21, as other businesses have had a great deal of success shortening their names and capitalising on how consumers describe their businesses.”
