One of Harcourts’ top regional offices, known as “the quiet achiever” by the network, has been recognised by the REIA for its performance in 2019.

At the 2019 Real Estate Institute of Australia Awards for Excellence, Harcourts Huon Valley has won the Medium Residential Agency of the Year award.

“Winning the Medium Agency of the Year for Australia is exciting and humbling for our office coming from a country town in Tasmania where we are not in the national real estate spotlight,” said Harcourts Huon Valley business owner Nick Bond.

“Our whole team is dedicated and work very hard. We have professionally trained staff that benefit from ongoing training and support from the Harcourts Tasmania corporate team and the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania training department. Thanks to the understanding partners and families of our team that allow the flexible lifestyles required to succeed in our industry.”

This is the second year in a row that Harcourts Huon Valley has won the award for Tasmania and the first national win for the office team.

“The Huon Valley has a natural beauty that Tasmania is renowned for all in one place,” Mr Bond said.

“We have small villages, country towns and rural communities located between the South West World Heritage Area and its stunning mountain ranges and the coast, with the beautiful Huon River and its many tributaries running through the valleys. It is often compared to Europe’s landscapes and is a sought-after area for interstate retirees. All our team love the Huon Valley and could hardly imagine living anywhere else.”

Harcourts Group Australia CEO Marcus Williams said that the Harcourts Huon Valley team is known for championing the Huon Valley and its lifestyle, serving as the best ambassadors for buying property in the region.

“Nick and the team at Harcourts Huon Valley are the quiet achievers of real estate,” he said.

“Nick, along with Karl Galliene, rated as first and second nationally and internationally across our 900 offices in nine countries for 2018 in the Client Experience Award category. You don’t get to that kind of recognition from your clients without delivering the finest experience.”

Harcourts Huon Valley also won a state REIT Innovation award for its mental health training outreach for agents and property managers.

As a blueprint for the industry, Harcourts Huon Valley has paved the way for other offices to trial the process and create better workplaces and have the real estate industry seen by professionals as a career option due to being progressive and having better work-life balance and understanding.

Harcourts Tasmania CEO Tony Morrison said that the recognition for Harcourts amongst the industry is very rewarding.

“It is a remarkable achievement to see Nick and the Harcourts Huon Valley team recognised with this award,” Mr Morrison said. “They stand as a symbol of excellence in the industry.”
