Realestate.com.au has launched a quirky educational video series starring comedian Jess Harris (of Twentysomething fame), who advocates for women to strive for their property goals.

The new “How to Home Loan” campaign is an educational video series to help first home buyers navigate the challenges faced when securing finance and buying a home.

REA Group general manager – financial experiences Eloise Wall said that the five-part video series irreverently explores the everyday frustrations that come with the home-buying journey.

“From escaping Instagram moments to daunting bank meetings and trying to maintain the avocado lifestyle while saving,” she said.

“We’re really excited to launch our new ‘How to Home Loan’ video series with Jess Harris. She’s created such a cheerful and encouraging take on the challenges of the first home buyer experience that many Aussies will be able to relate to.

“Realestate.com.au Home Loans is all about helping everyday Australians navigate the property and home loan journey, and we think this is a great way to shed some light on the process in a way that sets us apart from traditional banks and brokers.”

Ms Harris said that the campaign is about being honest and unfiltered, speaking directly to women looking at entering the property market by themselves for the first time.

“As a single, thirty-something woman myself, I wrote exactly what I would want to see and hear,” she said.

“I hope that by acknowledging, in a humorous way, that the property journey can be bumpy, young women will feel empowered and motivated that they can actually pull this house buying thing off.”

Created in partnership with Melbourne production agency Glue Content, the series was shot over two days at various locations around Melbourne.
