Bryce Bevan has been crowned the 2019 REINSW Novice Auctioneers Competition champion, in front of a crowd of over 50 bidders, supporters and industry leaders.

More than 25 novice auctioneers battled it out over the course of the competition at the Barnet Long Room of Sydney’s iconic Customs House.

Mr Bevan, a bloodstock consultant with Inglis, said he is well pleased.

“I’m absolutely ecstatic to be crowned the 2019 NAC champion,” he said.

“I feel very privileged and honoured to join such an illustrious group of people who have won the competition and gone on to greater and bigger things within the real estate industry.”

NAC head judge Clarence White said it was Mr Bevan’s “sheer determination” that got him over the line.

“Bryce competed in three NAC heats before securing a place in the final,” Mr White said.

“With each performance he demonstrated marked improvement, culminating in a confident display at the finals.”

The REINSW said the NAC is a platform for the state’s would-be and up-and-coming auctioneers to try their hand at auctioneering.

“Each participant auctions a luxury item of their choice, with funds raised in the heats and the final going directly to REINSW’s 2019 charity partner, Domestic Violence NSW,” it said.

“Real estate agents spend a lot of time in people’s homes and have a unique insight into their lives,” said REINSW president Leanne Pilkington.

“Domestic violence is a shameful aspect of our culture and we have a responsibility to offer support where we can, and where it is safe to do so.”

The REINSW said it has committed to raising $25,000 for DVNSW in 2019.

“The funds raised at this year’s NAC, which exceed $8,000, will support DVNSW in achieving its vision of a world where women, families and communities live free from violence.”
