How technology is empowering people and property into the future will be the key theme of this year’s RealTech event.

Real estate agents and property experts will gather at the Brisbane Entertainment and Convention Centre next Thursday. They will hear from a team of leading experts who will discuss the latest in AI, automation and e-crime, plus a debate between disruptors and enablers.

“RealTech is going to be a great event this year, as it always is, but in particular as we start to explore the main themes around how technology actually influences the real estate sector,” REIQ general manager Josh Callaghan said.

Since the real estate sector is heavily reliant on human connection, it is import to be aware of new technology and how it could be utilised.

“Clearly, that creates a little bit of fear and some angst, but really, these are enabling technologies that mean we can pump more human into the interaction,” Mr Callaghan said.

“We can utilise and leverage them to grow our business, to create better experiences with our customers, to be able to get more customers and create more transactions.”

This year’s line-up of experts includes Facebook certified professional John Hellaby, who will explore how agents can leverage Facebook, and cybercrime expert Alex Tilley, who will delve into the inner workings of cyber criminals in the real estate industry.

“I know when we hear the word technology, we want to run far away, but that’s the point of this event,” Mr Callaghan said.

“We want to guide you through all of the latest technology and innovation that is changing the way that real estate is conducted, so you simply can’t afford to miss this.”
