Tim Douglas has been the target of graffiti over the years, but the latest attempt has set the benchmark.

The principal of Place estate agents Paddington, Queensland, has had the billboard for 26 years, and it has continuously been a target for graffiti.

In the latest display of street art talent, Mr Douglas has been depicted as Hard Rock legend Gene Simmons.

“This is the best effort I’ve seen in 26 years,” Mr Douglas posted on Instagram.

“It is obviously one of those things people find some entertainment in,” he told Real Estate Business.

“As long as it is tastefully done, I don’t have a problem with it.”

Every time a new tagger has left their mark on the billboard, it gets noticed, he said.

“[The billboard] has been there so long it is one of those signs people know about and everyone sees the graffiti.

“I have people ringing me, letting me know it’s been graffiti.”

Over the years, it has cost him thousands of dollars to repair the signage, but he joked he has had to update it a few times because of ageing.

“You can’t stop that,” he laughed.

When it comes to tracking down the culprits, Mr Douglas is not bothered, saying it is just one of those things that happen.

“If it is rude, I’ll get it down, but when it’s fun, we leave it up for people to see.”
