Auctioneers in Dalby, Queensland, traded in real estate for horses for the 45th Annual Ray White Equine sale.
Folks from across Australia gathered in the rural Queensland town to raise their hand for one of the 237 lots at the sale at the 45th Annual Dalby Australian Stock Horse Sale.
When the final hammer went down, there was more than $1.5 million in sales, with a 78 per cent clearance rate.
“Despite 41 withdrawals due to the current dry conditions, it hasn’t diminished the opportunity for buyers to purchase first-class horses from all over the country,” Ray White Dalby principal Roger Lyne said.
“The quality is simply outstanding, with nothing but good feedback for the 45th year.”
The top sale price was $35,000, with a mare reaching $27,000 and several other horses achieved more than $20,000.
Ray White members travelled from near and far to make this event a success, Ray White Rural managing director Stephen Nell said.
“It is uplifting to see so many of our members within the rural network pull together and participate in ensuring the clients are receiving the best results,” Mr Nell said.
Auctioneers and bid spotters came from Queensland and NSW to be part of the event, which created a buzz.
“On behalf of the Ray White Dalby office, we cannot thank our Ray White Rural network enough for assisting throughout the event from the office to the auction stage. Livestock and rural agents came from Townsville through to Bathurst and as far west as Longreach. This massive event would not have gone ahead without the mustering of all the troops,” Mr Lyne said.
