McGrath head office has opened up an investigation following claims an employee was fired by one of its franchises after she complained about sexual harassment.

McGrath has confirmed to Real Estate Business it was reviewing a historic case.

“We confirm that an inquiry is now underway regarding misbehaviour in 2013 at an independent McGrath franchise,” a McGrath spokesman said.

“The matter was handled at the time by the franchisee and last week was passed on by the complainant to the company.

“We are undertaking an urgent inquiry into the incident and how it was handled by the franchisee."
