The Ray White Unley team has unveiled their second location in a bid to leverage on growth across Adelaide’s blue-chip inner south.

Five years after the opening of the Ray White Unley office, director Josh Gillespie has now taken over ownership at Ray White Colonel Light Gardens, building on the growth he has achieved over the years with his 16-strong team.

According to him, the expansion to a second location was a natural progression for the team, who has successfully achieved a huge growth of market share across inner Adelaide.

“This new location is the next step for us to completely service the inner suburbs of Adelaide, and I have such confidence and faith in the wonderful team around me to make this happen,” Mr Gillespie said.

Joining the team are the existing principal of the Colonel Light Gardens office, Matt Giblin, who will be staying on as a sales agent, as well as sales agent Brian Wellington.

Mr Gillespie looks forward to servicing Colonel Light Gardens, which he considers as “one of Adelaide’s most beautiful, sought-after suburbs, known for its tree-lined streets and bungalow-style homes”.

Raising his own family within the area has also allowed him to appreciate the family-friendly atmosphere created by beautiful parks and cafés.

Adding further to the inner-city suburb’s appeal is the protection of character home by government heritage regulations, he said.

“Nothing can be done here without state approval, which means that all homes retain the beautiful, original character of this area, even if owners opt to do a tasteful renovation,” Mr Gillespie said.

Ultimately, the Colonel Light Gardens market, along with the rest of inner Adelaide, has been showing good potential, marked by a 15 to 20 per cent price increase in the last six months alone, according to the director.

“The suburb is tightly held and there is a small turnover of properties, which makes it all the more special,” he said.

Looking ahead, Mr Gillespie and his team will be focusing on growing their sales business in the region, building up their market share and recruiting more people.

Ray White South Australia/Northern Territory CEO Matt Lindblom has expressed his support for Mr Gillespie and the new Colonel Light Gardens team.

“Josh has done a tremendous job since joining us with his business in Unley, and it was a natural progression for him to take the real estate market in this region even further,” Mr Lindblom said.

“We thank and congratulate Matt Giblin, and look forward to supporting Matt, Josh and the entire team as they expand into this new venture.”
