A strategic restructure has enabled Harcourts Group Australia to land a competitor’s chief auctioneer and COO.

Mitch Peereboom has been revealed as joining Harcourts’ Queensland team in the role of CEO Queensland.

It’s not his first stint with the network, having spent six years with the group, from 2011 to 2017, and working as the Harcourts chief auctioneer for four of those years.

Harcourts Australia CEO Marcus Williams said they are excited to welcome him back into the “family”, stating “we were of course happy for him when he decided to accept a role with Ray White but are thrilled that he’s now decided it’s time to return home”.

“He rejoins our leadership team in Australia in the key role of CEO Queensland at a time when we have never been closer to our ultimate ambition of becoming the leading brand in the country,” Mr Williams said.

“Mitch has incredibly strong relationships both within our group and across the broader industry that will serve him well going forward.”

According to Mr Peereboom, watching the network’s growth over recent years from afar made him keen to rejoin the group.

He commented: “Harcourts has always been a business that puts people first, that’s always there to support its people at every level to grow and achieve their ambitions.

“It has a culture of community which has seen the organisation rapidly grow over just 24 short years. Harcourts is home to some of the leading brands in Australia.

“This is a journey I want to be a part of.”

The new Queensland CEO highlighted that his most rewarding career experiences have centred around supporting business owners and agents to grow their businesses.

He said: “It’s what I love and what I’m most looking forward to in this new role, working closely with the leaders of the future.

“I couldn’t be happier to return and I’m really looking forward to introducing Harcourts to the broader industry.

“Ultimately, companies don’t succeed — people do.”
