At the brand’s Annerley office, three strong industry leaders will join forces to become joint principals.

Denis Najzar, James Curtain and Mitchell Smith have all been named as the newest principals of the Place Estate Agents’ Annerley office, where the trio will look to lead the established office into the future.

Mr Najzar and Mr Curtain, who had previously worked together as the joint principals of nearby Place Woolloongabba, will combine their expertise and experience with that of Mr Smith, currently director and lead agent at the office, and the rest of the Annerley team.

The team will reportedly be operating under the Place Professional Services model, facilitated through the head office.

The collective move into the Annerley office following the departure of Nick and Nicolette Bekker, the office’s previous principals, who “have decided to move on to the next phase of their real estate journey”, according to Place Estate Agents chief executive office Damian Hackett.

Mr Hackett said the trio would be backed by the Place head office team, which would allow for greater focus on the fundamentals of real estate, including sales and client relations.

For Mr Smith, the move will allow him to fill his own longstanding career goals of business ownership and achievement of a leadership position.

“It’s a privilege to be able to get involved in an established office that has been doing so well; then to grow on that to make it into a super office – there’s so much opportunity in our suburbs, including amazing lifestyle like Annerley, Tarragindi, Moorooka, Yeronga and Yeerongpilly,” he said.

Mr Najzar added that he and Mr Curtain were looking forward to the opportunity to grow the team.

“We will be building on the Bekker’s strong foundations,” he said, “and we look forward to excelling the office, with a strong focus on impeccable customer service”.

In addition to his six years of experience at Place, Mr Najzar also spent seven years at Harcourts honing his crafts, while Mr Curtain, who holds over 25 years of experience in the industry – including 17 years at Place – and is set to bring a wealth of knowledge to the joint venture.

The new leadership announcement comes as properties in the local area have experienced a 42 per cent price increase in the last 12 months, culminating in a median house price of $1,150,000.

Over the same period of time, average unit prices have jumped 14.1 per cent in that same time, not sitting at $476,000.
