An independent operation on the NSW coast has joined up with a brand as a way of planning for its future.

Bill Knaggs has moved his second-generation family business to Ray White, bringing along with him his daughter Rowena Hernandez, as well as Aramis Pincovai, son-in-law to his other daughter.

Ms Hernandez will manage the business, while Mr Pincovai will head up the operation’s sales team.

With two offices to their name, both the Fingal Bay and Nelson Bay locations will rebrand as Ray White Knaggs Group.

With a busy few years behind them, Mr Knaggs expects momentum to continue based on some recent and upcoming changes in the area.

The COVID-19 pandemic, he opined, had been responsible for an influx of Sydneysiders newly visiting the area as they contemplated relocations outside of the city.

“A lot of people have just discovered this area. It amazed me that a lot of our clients are coming from Sydney and venturing here for the first time,” he said.

“They had finally decided to take the right hand turn on the highway two hours out of Sydney and were amazed at the natural beauty and village feel of the area. It’s like Byron Bay was 30 years ago.”

Major infrastructure upgrades in the coming years will also lend support to the area’s sustained growth, he noted.

“We’ve also now got federal funding for an expansion of our local airport which will allow overseas flights to come in directly,” Mr Knaggs said.

“There’s also a lot of technology going in around the airport and there will be big expansions in the industrial and aerospace sectors. The mining side may be getting quieter but our technology and tourism sides are about to go through the roof.”

The decision to join up with a brand after years of independence represents a form of succession planning for Mr Knaggs.

“Knowing that we have a solid backing behind us in the Ray White Group will allow me to take a step back in the future. Ray White is a family business just like ours and our values align which makes the partnership a perfect fit,” he said.

Meanwhile, Ray White NSW chief executive Andrew McCulloch noted that Mr Knaggs and his team fit right into the network.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bill, Rowena and Aramis to the Ray White Group. We pride ourselves on being a family business and are delighted to be aligning ourselves with another family business,” he said.
