The network has added two regional offices in new markets across NSW this month.

The owners of the new offices in Bathurst, in the central west, and in the Riverina town of Griffith were held up by the brand as models of the type of talent it was trying to attract.

The company’s network head Stephen Mutton welcomed Bathburst-based husband-and-wife duo Mark and Amy Dwyer and Griffith-born Anthony Sergi, who will head the offices, respectively, saying they exemplified the “the young, energetic and go-getting agents and franchise owners”, the brand had been attracting.

“This next generation sees a vision for their own businesses reflected in our brand. As we head towards our centenary, this will ensure the future of LJ Hooker for many years to come,” Mr Mutton added.

As if taking his praise as a challenge, the new Bathurst office kicked things off with a strong start, achieving two unconditional sales and listing several other properties just days after opening their agency doors.

“It has been a super busy first week, so a great start for us,” Mr Dwyer said.

“We are hoping to bring a bit of youth and a fresh approach to the industry in town and I think that is resonating with locals.”

The duo are planning to capitalise on the rapid population growth Bathurst has experienced in the past year alone, while also making the most of LJ Hooker’s trusted name, having had a presence in the town a number of years ago.

With Ms Dwyer running the front-of-house operations and Mr Dwyer overseeing sales, the pair are already looking to bring on more staff and have committed to a partnership with the local NDIS to provide work experience opportunities.

“Our family focus and passion for our community will be our point of difference,” Mr Dwyer said.

Family values similarly motivate Mr Sergi, father to three teenage children that he has raised in the town of Griffith, where he was also born and returned to as an adult after a number of years spent in Sydney.

“I always thought we would head back to the city one day, but Griffith is just such a beautiful place to live,” Mr Sergi said.

“It has almost everything you can find in the city and of course, the internet has changed everything. There is an almost endless supply of jobs and just a wonderful lifestyle.”

With 25 years of experience under his belt, he is quick to point out the ways in which Riverina living could be appealing to city dwellers looking for a more relaxed lifestyle — and an easier market entry point.

Residential homes in the area are generally priced from $400,000 to $600,000, making the region attractive for young families and those looking to relocate, the agency noted.

He hasn’t yet had an official opening, but Mr Sergi is already off to a running start and is quick to credit LJ Hooker’s support.

“It has a great support network and when I considered everything it just made sense,” he said.
