The brand’s Central Park office has two new accolades under its belt, thanks to its focus on wellness, innovation and technology.

JLL’s West Australian office space has achieved the WELL Gold rating from the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) and a five-star Green Star certification from the Green Building Council of Australia.

A joint effort between JLL’s design and projects team and the brand’s Perth corporate office led to the accolade, which was touted as highlighting the company’s innovative approaches to wellness, innovation, and technology.

JLL managing director (WA) Angelo Amara explained that both awards were the goal of the company “before design of the office began” due to an understanding that “adequate planning would be critical to success”.

“Elements such as energy efficiency, sustainability, facilities and materials were carefully selected in the early planning stages to follow the standards of the two certifications – WELL and Green Star,” he professed.

He added that “the certifications demonstrate the ability of JLL and our specialised energy and sustainability experts to assist in achieving our green initiatives and obtaining outstanding WELL and Green Star recognitions for our office”.

He believes the achievement is “a testament to JLL’s focus and commitment to enhancing our team’s health and well-being in the space where we work and play”.

The group’s Perth corporate office includes a raft of sustainable and environmentally friendly elements, including low environmental impact and low volatile organic compound-emitting materials to provide a comfortable environment, as well air quality sensors and extremely efficient LED lighting paired with occupancy and daylight sensors — which has contributed to a reduction in operational energy consumption.

Along with the two accolades, Adam Edmunds, JLL’s senior director, work dynamics lead (WA), said the organisation was also honoured to win CoreNet Global’s Workplace Innovation Award recently.

“We designed and built this office to be everything a workplace should be. Its focus on health and wellness is unparalleled in the Perth CBD office market, and it is designed to support dynamic working and foster community and collaboration,” he stated.

Mr Amara concluded that, given the brand’s sustainability initiative, titled “Shaping the future of real estate for a better world”, — which emphasises a sustainable approach within JLL’s offices and work with clients that sets an emissions target amongst other aims — the awards highlight the company’s ability to “walk the talk when it comes to sustainability”.

“It demonstrates our commitment to creating a sustainable workplace that is healthy and productive for our people and our clients, and that puts human experience at its heart,” he said.
