The network further tightened its grip on Sydney’s St George market with a new office, headed by a “dynamic duo” whose roots run deep within the area.

Long-term locals John Pucak and Christian Lagarez have launched Raine & Horne Oatley following their stints with an independent agency.

The new outfit beefs up the network’s established presence in the southern Sydney region, which includes offices at Kogarah, Sans Souci, Hurstville, South Hurstville, Bexley/Beverly Hills, and Bardwell Park/Kingsgrove.

Raine & Horne’s latest push into the area can also be viewed as a homecoming moment for the network that has a longstanding history with Oatley .

The network first made its presence known in Oatley by selling the suburb’s first waterfront subdivisions back in 1908. It only made its re-entry in the area 100 years later, with Raine & Horne setting up a physical office in the suburb in the 1990s and early 2000s.

With that, Raine & Horne described the opening of the Oatley office’s doors as a “full-circle moment for the team”.

Network manager for Raine & Horne Travis Wentriro expressed his confidence that the new office would get off on a strong footing due to Mr Pucak and Mr Lagarez’s extensive local market and industry knowledge.

Mr Lagarez has over 20 years of real estate sales and property management experience and was a business owner in Australia and overseas.

And while Mr Pucak got his head start in property at a much later period in 2015, the network noted that he is also well-versed in the market after living locally for 20 years.

“John and Christian understand the power of positive word-of-mouth referrals and that when people are happy, they come back and tell their clients and friends,” Mr Wentriro commented.

Mr Wentriro also pointed out that both Mr Lagarez and Mr Pucak were perfect-fit to head the new office given their business acumen.

“John and Christian’s experience as business owners has taught them the importance of loyalty and building long-term relationships with people. This knowledge has translated brilliantly to real estate.

“They have a reputation for exceeding their client’s expectations, which has been key to their successful careers in real estate sales and will translate brilliantly to owning a real estate office,” he explained.

Mr Pucak stated that operating under Raine & Horne was a choice pivoted by their desire to do work independently while maximising their financial opportunities.

“We were happy to work as part of a team initially, but we also didn’t want to be left behind.

“We also wanted to be reimbursed for bringing in listings, which is hard work. We have both had extensive stints as business owners and are looking forward to working again without restrictions,”  Mr Pucak stated.

But he also explained that the move to create a new location in their hometown was not purely financially motivated.

“Apart from the business and financial freedoms, we love working with our vendors and buyers to complete a property transaction. I personally love the chitchat involved in selling real estate,” Mr Pucak concluded.
