The National Association of Realtors has spent $3.8 million this quarter lobbying the American government for aid to support the housing market.
The trade group for real estate agents has been arguing for a tax-credit for first home buyers along with foreclosure prevention efforts and consumer protection bills, Associated Press reported.
The bills involve housing discrimination, tenant evictions and homeowners insurance.
According to a recent disclosure form filed with the Senate’s public records office, the Association of Realtors has spent more than $9.5 million lobbying Washington this year.
