When this real estate agent left his Sydney agency, he didn’t expect to be returning so soon.
Previously based at One Agency Pymble on Sydney’s leafy upper north shore, Levent Ince had recently been approached by a number of new, tech-focused brands.
He chose Upside, before the company recently revealed that it was entering voluntary admission in a bid to facilitate a capital restructure.
Mr Ince isn’t the only operator at the Once Agency Group who has had offers from other networks land on his desk. According to One Agency CEO Paul Davies, numerous One Agency members have recently been approached with offers to make a switch.
He said the rise of fresh-faced real estate agencies, following the COVID-19 pandemic, is posing real competition for traditional networks.
Mr Davies expressed his belief that the increase in independent agents that has occurred since the pandemic demonstrated that “it is possible to have a successful business without the traditional trappings of the old brands, including having a shopfront office”.
For Mr Ince at least, these bright young agencies promise more than they can deliver.
Just two months after his departure, Mr Ince is back at the helm of One Agency Pymble, where his 24 years of real estate experience are being put to good use.
Speaking about his decision to return to his home turf, Mr Ince stated that he appreciates how One Agency offers tools “to help me grow my own business”. He expressed that he enjoys the freedom to take his business in his own direction “without interference from the head office”.
It looks like it’s full steam ahead for Mr Ince.
