City tree-changers spur growth of Central Tablelands outfit

Rising interest from Sydney buyers has led McGrath to secure a new outpost in the region.

McGrath Central Tablelands revealed it has acquired an office in Lithgow, bringing the real estate brand’s Central Tablelands portfolio to a total of three outlets.

Located 150 kilometres west of Sydney at the foothills of the Blue Mountains, McGrath Lithgow will provide a strategic complement to the group’s pre-established offices in Mudgee and Rylstone.

“Taking our business to even greater heights across the Central Tablelands and towards the western foot of the Blue Mountains is an extremely exciting time,” said McGrath Central Tablelands CEO Scott Kelly.

McGrath Lithgow will be headed by siblings Adam Woods and Chandelle Newbigging under the support of Mr Kelly, who joined the outfit in February. The two directors are longstanding members of the Central Tablelands community, having called Mudgee their home since 1986.

Mr Kelly shared that the team’s “initial forecast for strong growth in the Central Tablelands region has been led by unprecedented interest and movement from city-based buyers since the COVID pandemic”.

Despite a recent slowdown in post-pandemic regional migration, the Regional Australia Institute (RAI) noted that in spring this year, the proportion of capital city dwellers entering the regions was still up 16 per cent on pre-COVID-19 levels. Young Australians keen to snatch up the abundance of professional jobs on offer in regional areas are the key driver behind this shift, according to the RAI.

In the Central Tablelands, it was this surge in interest from Sydneysiders that led McGrath Central Tablelands to extend their reach to Rylstone and Lithgow.

Mr Kelly emphasised the importance of continuing its ambitious pace of expansion, stating: “We realise the need, and have undertaken, to continually build our business and resource infrastructure in order to support our current and future team members to fast-track their own growth ambitions.”

McGrath Central Tablelands shared that its latest acquisition is just one step in a journey that is set to continue, and hinted at future plans to “enhance their service capabilities and cater to the diverse needs of their clientele”.

McGrath Lithgow will include Tina James, Stacey Field and Erin Kanisek on the sales team, and Jessica Kinney, Casey Mergan, Harrison Hopkins, Mikayla Callcott and Chandelle Lord on the property management team.

It will service the suburbs of Lithgow, Lidsdale, Oakey Park, Rydal, Littleton, Vale of Clwydd, Springvale and Hermitage Flat, among others.
