Ray White real estate has achieved its greatest monthly residential sales result ever for Victoria.

According to Victorian general manager Marcus Williams, preliminary state wide sales figures topped $400 million, a 66 per cent improvement on September 2008.

Mr Williams said the result had helped Ray White boost its overall market share in Victoria by 0.5 per cent

“We had 14 offices achieve personal best monthly sales, so overall it is just a remarkable result.

“Office PBs were set by Manningham, Mitcham, Ashburton, Brunswick, Oakleigh, Preston, Reservoir, Greensborough, Mill Park, Lara, Sunbury, Chelsea, Berwick and Cranbourne.

“Oakleigh achieved the highest sales result for the month with almost $25 million in sales, almost $2 million up on their August result.”

Mr Williams did say that the paring back of the boosted first home owners grant from September 30 may present some challenges to the real estate agency, however he said he expected first home buyers to remain active for the rest of the year as the combination of federal and state grants meant $12,500 was on offer for existing homes in Victoria and $25,000 for new homes.
