McGrath’s latest merger with an independent agency aims to give the group “dominance” in the Hills District.

McGrath West, Northwest, Hills and Hawkesbury has recently joined forces with Sciberras Group, a top-ranking local independent based in Kellyville.

For Kon Stathopoulos, group principal of McGrath West, Northwest, Hills and Hawkesbury, the amalgamation has the potential to give the brand significant reach in this rapidly growing area of Sydney.

“The Northwest and Hills corridor is one of the fastest growing housing markets in Sydney,” Mr Stathopoulos stated.

“A McGrath presence in Kellyville will further bolster our market share, giving us dominance in the area,” the group principal predicted.

Since the first branch of the Sydney Metro opened in the Hills in 2019, suburbs in the Kellyville area have risen exponentially, with the neighbouring suburb of Castle Hill recording 72 per cent capital growth over the last decade.

Corie Sciberras, principal of the Sciberras Group, expressed optimism about the future of property in the Hills District.

“Despite the rapid interest rate rises, we have seen the Hills continue to outperform market predictions with record prices still being achieved via the auction process,” Mr Sciberras reported.

He stated that the strength of the market can be directly attributed to population growth in the area, sharing that “buyers are attracted to the continued improvement of infrastructure, quality shopping, schooling and the ability to work from home in this beautiful part of Sydney”.

And having been named Residential Salesperson of the Year by the Real Estate Institute of NSW (REINSW), Mr Sciberras is clearly an agent with his pulse on the local Kellyville market.

According to Mr Sciberras, his partnership with McGrath Castle Hill and McGrath Northwest will allow him to continue strategically growing his business.

“I was so impressed with how John McGrath built up his business and, as a result, I modelled my own on McGrath Estate Agents,” Mr Sciberras said.

“I look to John as a mentor and I’ve known Kon for years. To be honest, I wouldn’t go anywhere else, he added.

He and his 15-person team will retain their Kellyville office, now rebranded under the McGrath name.

McGrath expects the new addition will bring over $250 million in gross sales per year, and 175 additional sales to McGrath Northwest.

Mr Stathopoulos is equally excited for the merger with Sciberras Group. He shared: “I’ve known Corie for eight years and have watched his development in the industry.”

Group CEO John McGrath also revealed that he is “delighted to have Corie join our team”.

“He is without doubt one of the top agents in the country and will only further bolster the strength of our existing team.

“I believe Corie is poised to take his sales business to an even higher level at McGrath,” the CEO concluded.
