Twelve agencies have partnered up with The Salvation Army to deliver toys to local families in need.

The cost-of-living crisis has had repercussions for people all across Australia, but some households are feeling the pinch more than others.

This Christmas, Urban Real Estate is lending a helping hand to local kids facing poverty by organising charity toy drives across 12 agencies.

“From the Hunter Valley to south-west Sydney, we have seen firsthand the impact of the increased cost of living on families,” said Isobel Hinding, marketing specialist at Urban Real Estate.

“As a community-minded organisation, it made sense to use our extensive network to make a positive change on people’s lives and hopefully alleviate some stress in the lead up to Christmas,” she said.

Last year, Urban Real Estate’s Denham Court outpost ran a toy drive in their office, and it was met with lots of enthusiasm. The success of the Denham Court drive buoyed on the network to expand the initiative across all 12 NSW offices.

Customers, staff and community members are invited to purchase a Christmas gift and deliver it to their local Urban Real Estate office, where it will be placed under the agency tree. The network is happy to provide gift ideas for different age groups.

The donated gifts will then be delivered to local children in need by The Salvation Army, with whom Urban Real Estate has partnered for the second year running.

“As our chosen delivery partner, The Salvation Army has played a vital role for decades in delivering gifts and food hampers to less fortunate families across Australia. They are entrusted by hundreds of companies to provide an important service in helping vulnerable people, especially at Christmas time,” said Ms Hinding.

She added that this is “the first time we have run a Christmas event at this scale”.

“Hundreds of gifts are already arriving from customers and the broader community, demonstrating ‘the gift of giving’ mindset is very strong this festive season.”

Urban Real Estate shared that the network prides itself on community connection, describing giving back as “the core of Urban Real Estate.”

This year, Urban Real Estate reported that it supported Breast Cancer Awareness Day, R U OK Day, Jersey Day, World Blood Donor Day, and Jeans for Genes, while also supporting local sports teams.

In October, the brand’s Marsden Park office held their sixth annual Halloween Fair in a local housing estate, including trick-or-treating, face painting, competitions and stilt walkers.
