The network’s latest office opening will see a “powerhouse partnership” in the Lake Macquarie region.
The year 2023 was an eventful one for real estate megabrand LJ Hooker, and the group made sure its year went out with a bang. On New Years’ Eve, the newest addition to the LJ Hooker network opened its doors for the first time on the NSW Central Coast.
LJ Hooker Dudley | Redhead is located in Lake Macquarie, a seaside leisure haven just south of Newcastle. With beachside mansions, holiday cabins, renovators and family homes all on offer, the area has experienced steady growth in recent years.
Helming the new office will be sales manager Tegan O’Doherty and property manager Gabrielle Darcy, who have a longstanding professional relationship.
“The first time I met Gabrielle she was managing one of my investment properties and we just got to know one another,” said Ms O’Doherty, who had previously been a co-owner of LJ Hooker Belmont.
“We share the same genuine passion for serving people,” Ms O’Doherty stated. “We plan on surpassing expectations and making the real estate experience enjoyable.”
For Ms O’Doherty, rejoining LJ Hooker is a personal homecoming. Having left the agency briefly in 2022 to join a Newcastle-based HR company, Ms O’Doherty soon found she missed the community connection that residential sales offered.
“My personal connection with LJ Hooker goes beyond business,” she said. “It’s where I met my husband, developed as a business owner and leader, and where my children were raised. I wouldn’t be anywhere else.”
Property manager Ms Darcy is a newcomer to the LJ Hooker brand, but it is a change she is keen to embrace.
“I think it is very symbolic to be opening a new business, in a new location and in a new year,” said Ms Darcy.
After a decade managing her own independent property management business, Ms Darcy stated she “can see the advantages of being a part of this super brand”.
Ms Darcy added: “Tegan and I have the same high energy and similar personalities, but we like different aspects of the business, so that will bring a balance to our teamwork.”
Looking forward into 2024, Ms O’Doherty and Ms Darcy expressed enthusiasm about the future of LJ Hooker Dudley | Redhead. The next few weeks will see the height of the summer market surge, and the pair hope to continue harnessing this momentum into the new year, with a new sales agent set to come on board in February.
