The Real Estate Employers Federation of Western Australia (REEFWA) will launch a national website dedicated to helping agents understand and deal with the impending Fair Work Act.

Under the draft Act, a national set of awards will be introduced – including a base wage – that will be paid to all real estate agents across Australia.

Last month, Real Estate Business was inundated with comment from the industry in response to the Bill.

Many agents questioned whether or not the Bill would have a negative impact on the industry.

Through its new website, www.areec.com.au, REEFWA is intending to clear up any confusion about the Bill.

REEFWA president Kent Murphy told Real Estate Business that the website was easy to navigate and would help employers download, understand and implement suitable contracts of employment for their employees.

“The website should be fully operational within the next few weeks. It will be a one stop shop for agents who want an uncomplicated avenue to update their business model so that it complies with the incoming legislation,” Mr Murphy said.

“With this website, employers can download a contract template and modify it to suit the needs of their company and employee. The website also boasts an advice service, so that any queries can be sorted out quickly and efficiently.”
