McGrath Estate Agent’s 150th office will expand the brand’s presence to Newcastle and Lower Hunter, under the leadership of a pair of tenured real estate experts.
McGrath Estate Agents has announced that the longstanding principals of its Terrigal outpost, Mat Steinwede and Jaimie Woodcock, have now opened the new McGrath Newcastle office in the Hunter Region of NSW.
The new office marks both McGrath’s 150th office across the east coast and the 10th office opened by Steinwede and Woodcock, who joined as the brand’s first franchise partners in 2005 by opening McGrath Terrigal.
The brand’s CEO, John McGrath, said that the office opening was an “amazing full circle” for McGrath’s first ever franchisees to also open the brand’s 150th office 20 years down the track.
“Mat and Jaimie are among the greatest real estate principals I’ve seen in my 40-year career, and both have become dear friends over many years,” McGrath said.
“And now with their incredible success on the Central Coast, they’re perfectly positioned to take their success formula to the booming Newcastle and Lower Hunter areas,” he added.
Woodcock, the managing principal of McGrath Central Coast, said that the franchise’s success stemmed from the strong support offered by John McGrath himself, which initially attracted him to the McGrath network in 2005.
“We were drawn to John’s professional beliefs in what the industry should be about. His professionalism and focus on making customers for life very much resonated with Mat and myself,” Woodcock said.
“When you get that alignment and have the desire to build a great business, that definitely propelled us to greater heights,” he added.
Steinwede also highlighted that the resources and guidance offered by John McGrath and the wider McGrath brand had been influential to his and Woodcock’s success.
“McGrath has been a strategic partner for us, attracting owners who are serious about selling. It has enabled us to have a Sydney-centric approach with its broad database and network,” he said.
With the doors to McGrath Newcastle now open, Woodcock said that the new office is well-positioned to achieve success amid the ongoing growth of the broader Newcastle market.
“There is extraordinary potential with the gentrification of the Newcastle CBD and the infrastructure improvements that will enhance connectivity, liveability, and economic opportunity for the region,” he said.
Woodcock said that the diversity of property with beachside views in the Newcastle market is expected to be another key business driver for McGrath Newcastle.
“The lifestyle aspects in Newcastle are compelling, and in many ways undiscovered with world-class beaches such as Merewether, Bar Beach and Nobby’s Beach within minutes from Newcastle CBD,” Woodcock said.
Head of McGrath franchise, Chris Mourd, congratulated Woodcock and Steinwede on the opening of their new office, and said they were well-equipped to achieve further success at McGrath Newcastle.
“Jaimie and Mat are not only exceptional agents but as business owners, they have strategically expanded their operation and their footprint from one small office to cover a large regional area of the Central Coast and beyond to the Hunter Valley,” Mourd concluded.
