A new initiative to improve support, wellbeing and professional growth has recently launched as concerns over mental health continue to mount.

A new mental health initiative and research project has been launched with a focus on men working in the real estate industry.

The Men in Real Estate Project, led by mindset, motivation, and accountability coach Jet Xavier, will offer an in-depth exploration of the experiences and struggles of professionals in the field.

“The first step is listening. So, a totally anonymous survey has been designed for men only to complete,” Xavier said.

The project will then use the results of the survey to produce an industry-first report that can be used to inform support services nationwide.

The report will also equip businesses and leaders with the tools to better support male team members, partners and agents who might be experiencing challenges.

In addition, once the research has been conducted, The Men in Real Estate Project will launch support pathways, coaching, events and development projects to help men find a better work-life balance.

Xavier said that the platform will help men elevate their business, mindset, habits, and life to achieve success, purpose, and fulfilment.

“It’s for men ready to build a powerful business, a stronger identity, and a life that reflects who they truly are — not just what they do,” he said.

“We help men upgrade their habits, relationships, mindset, and purpose — so they lead the market and their lives.”

“It’s not just about struggle — it’s about growth and celebrating success.”

The initiative comes at a much-needed time for the industry, with 53 per cent of property managers experiencing psychological distress, according to a national MRI Software survey.

Similarly, research by Beyond Blue has shown that 18.5 per cent of Australian males have experienced a mood disorder in their lifetime.

In the real estate industry, Xavier said that mental health issues often remain hidden, with men silently struggling, cracking under pressure, burning out and losing their family connections.

Xavier said he hoped that the initiative would help to create open and honest dialogue and lead to enhanced personal fulfilment, health and connection in today’s real estate industry.

The project will produce a report of its findings in November.
