Two sales agents have joined Place South Brisbane as demand in the city continues, while the region undergoes a major transformation ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
Catherine Mok and Peter Douglas have joined Place South Brisbane’s sales teams, bringing combined experience of nearly 20 years in the industry.
The network said Mok and Douglas will be co-agents working under principal Michael Hatzifotis, bringing a blend of cultural insight, strategic thinking and deep local knowledge.
Mok, who has almost a decade of experience selling real estate across Hong Kong and Brisbane, said her experience in fast-paced property markets will be advantageous to the role.
Place said Mok also brought multilingual abilities with fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English, and deep connections with Hong Kong, Taiwan and Chinese buyers.
“A lot of overseas and expat buyers want guidance from someone who understands both markets, and that’s a big part of how I help people,” Mok said.
She said her decision to join the agency was influenced by the network’s reputation, its friendly and professional team, and its solid leadership culture.
“Michael invited me to join, and when I visited the office and attended Place open homes, I could feel the difference immediately.”
She added that she was influenced by Place’s strong female leadership after attending an open home run by Place New Farm director Sarah Hackett.
Meanwhile, the network said Douglas brought a decade of sales experience across real estate and retail, backed by experience in property management and leasing.
Douglas said Place offered reliable systems and a client-first culture that created an ideal environment to serve the rapidly shifting inner-city market.
According to Place, new Olympic infrastructure, precinct upgrades and improved transport links were elevating South Brisbane’s lifestyle appeal and long-term growth trajectory, attracting a broad range of buyers.
Hatzifotis said the decade of transformation was prompting sustained demand for quality homes, with Mok and Douglas well equipped to deal with the changes.
“Catherine and Peter each bring a depth of expertise, professionalism and cultural awareness that will give our clients a clear advantage in this evolving market,” he concluded.
