A local network has announced that it is expanding into the Papua New Guinean real estate market, having partnered with a local real estate veteran.
One Agency has announced it is expanding into the Papua New Guinea market, partnering with a local real estate professional with 25 years of property market expertise.
Kelly Cook will be the principal and licensee of the new office, One Agency Papua New Guinea.
Cook was recently general manager of LJ Hooker Port Moresby and director of Kelly Cook Properties.
The office launches with a team of five staff, including an admin and operations manager, accounts clerk, IT marketing assistant, sales consultant, and property supervisor.
"Expanding into Papua New Guinea represents a significant step in our international growth strategy. To do so with a leader of Kelly's calibre and experience provides us with immense confidence,” Paul Davies, founder and chief executive officer of One Agency, said.
“His deep understanding of the local landscape and respected industry profile make him the ideal partner to launch the One Agency brand. We are thrilled to support him as he brings our agent-empowered model to this new market."
The Papua New Guinea property market requires unique expertise to navigate, Cook explained.
“Papua New Guinea is entering a landscape defined by significant growth potential, driven by urbanisation and resource sector demand. While structural challenges like land tenure exist, the opportunities for strategic investment and development are significant.”
“My team have all been hand-selected based on their knowledge of the local market dynamics, along with their professionalism and expertise. Buyers and sellers can be assured that they’ll receive friendly, knowledgeable service.”
It comes as a husband and wife duo announced that they would head the network’s latest Brisbane office.
The new Capalaba office, southeast of Brisbane’s CBD, will be spearheaded by experienced agent Lorraine Martin, who, along with her husband Brian, spent eight years running an independent real estate agency in Townsville.
Martin told REB that although One Agency initially approached the couple to run a Townsville office, and they had received interest from other national networks, she had already been planning a move back to Capalaba.
According to Martin, One Agency seized the opportunity to open an office in Capalaba, as the network did not yet have a presence in the area.
“It turned out really well, because we had been speaking to One Agency up there, and then the stars aligned,” she said.
