LJ Hooker has announced the acquisition of a new office in Brisbane’s outer suburbs, as the network aims to enhance its services in the growing region.

Following a decade of operation under the Century 21 banner, the new Browns Plains office will be led by principal Bala Rajan.

Rajan said the shared values between the office and the network drove the decision to align the office with LJ Hooker.

“LJ Hooker is a brand that people know and trust, and its values reflect our own,” Rajan said.

“We operate as a family, supporting one another, united by a shared goal and a commitment to have a client-first approach in everything we do.”

LJ Hooker head of network Australia, Chris Keating, said the acquisition would enable the brand to leverage the office's position and experience in Brisbane’s growing outer suburbs.

“There is momentum in the Brisbane market as we head towards the 2032 Olympic Games, and it’s not just in the CBD but also in more outer, affordable areas,” Keating said.

“These suburbs are attracting first-home buyers, downsizers, young families and investors looking for long-term capital growth.”

The network said the region had experienced high buyer demand due to affordability, while rental demand was primarily centred on 3- and 4-bedroom houses and modern units.

LJ Hooker head of growth Jarita Rayasam said that the addition of Rajan’s office to the network typified the traits the network looks for in office acquisitions.

“Bala’s decision to join our network reflects the kind of ambition and community focus that drives sustainable growth, both for his team and for the clients they serve across Brisbane’s evolving suburbs,” Rayasam said.

Rajan said that the office would continue to focus on client engagement as it serves the surrounding suburbs.

“We prioritise communication because we believe that transparency is key to building long-term relationships with clients,” Rajan concluded.
