A national buyer’s agency has boosted its presence on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, appointing a senior buyer’s agent to service the region’s competitive market.

Buyer’s agency PMC Property Buyers has appointed veteran buyer’s agent Annika Wood as the group looks to strengthen its presence in Sydney’s premium Lower North Shore market.

Wood began her real estate career in sales with Chadwick Real Estate, then switched to a buyer’s agent role with OH Property, where she has been for the past six years, before joining PMC.

Wood said her decision to switch agency steamed from her readiness to challenge herself, and PMC allowed her to focus on a particular “patch” of the market.

“We were a good match in the sense that I was looking for a new home and they needed somebody to look after their North Shore leads,” Wood told REB.

“These guys have buyer’s agents that focus on an area, and they know it like the back of their hands.”

“I like that concept rather than spreading yourself too thin as a buyer’s agent.”

With an average asking price of more than $4 million in the Lower North Shore suburbs, Wood said research, due diligence and negotiation were the keys to success in the competitive market.

She said that despite the higher price tags, the Lower North Shore demographic was diverse.

“I’ve helped first-time buyers all the way through to upsizers with a healthy budget, downsizers, to young professionals and young couples and families.

“The good properties are selling well and reasonably quickly, but tricky properties are definitely taking longer and sometimes having to discount a bit to get them done.” Wood said.
