The CEO of a Sydney real estate group will be departing the company, having played a key role in the network’s continued strategic growth.

BresicWhitney has announced that chief executive officer (CEO) Thomas McGlynn will depart the business in the coming weeks.

McGlynn joined the business in 2020 as head of sales and chief auctioneer, and was later appointed CEO in December 2021.

During his time as CEO, McGlynn has overseen the network’s strategic growth, with the employment of key talent, in its bid to be a leading real estate group.

In 2024, the company hit a 50/50 gender balance in its executive team, achieving a new milestone in its gender equality journey.

Chief executive officer (COO) Will Gosse, who has been with the group for over a decade, will be stepping into the role of acting CEO, effective immediately.

Gosse said McGlynn had brought a clear vision and passion to the network, building a legacy of integrity, humility, and care for those around him.

“It’s one we carry forward with sincere gratitude, continuing to build on the best of the past, to create an even better future,” he said.

“On behalf of everyone at BresicWhitney, we wish Thomas all the very best, and thank him once again for his leadership.”

Reflecting on his time with the network, McGlynn said the company enabled an environment where professionals could invest in each other’s success.

He also said he was grateful to have had support and trust from the network during his time as CEO.

“I have complete confidence in the business and the talented leaders who will continue to shape the path forward.”

BresicWhitney said the group’s next CEO would be revealed in due course, but in the meantime, it will remain focused on achieving continuity, clarity, and stability for its people and its clients.

“We remain focused on future-proofing the diverse opportunities for our people, the competitive advantage we offer our clients and customers, and adding long-term value to our local Sydney communities,” Gosse concluded.
