Place Ascot has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of property management team leader Siobhan Kerin, a decade-long industry professional who sees property management not as a stepping stone, but as a lifelong career.
“I like to say I fell into the industry,” Siobhan said. “I started as a 20-year-old assistant while studying tourism and business. Ten years later, I know this is exactly where I’m meant to be.”
After progressing from portfolio property manager to team leader within a larger national brand, Siobhan discovered her passion wasn’t just managing properties but developing people.
“That’s where I found my real drive. Building other PMs, strengthening their skills and confidence, and helping change the stigma around property management.”
She describes herself as a “PM for life”.
“With property management, you build long-term relationships. You’re in people’s lives consistently. I’ve seen clients go through marriages, babies, and major life milestones. That trust is built over years.”
Now leading the team at Place Ascot, Siobhan is focused on personality-led leadership and elevating client experience.
“Strong leadership makes all the difference. It’s about understanding personalities, pairing the right managers with the right owners, and creating an environment where people perform at their best.”
She is also mentoring emerging talent within the office, creating structured training pathways for team members wanting to step into portfolio roles.
Since COVID, she said, expectations from landlords and tenants had intensified, placing greater pressure on property managers.
“Before 10am you can handle multiple urgent issues across completely different areas. It’s a high-responsibility role. That’s why leadership support and upskilling are so important.”
Directors Drew Davies and Patrick McKinnon brought Siobhan back into a leadership role, recognising the opportunity to further strengthen the property management arm of the business.
“Siobhan represents the future of property management leadership,” said Drew.
“She combines technical expertise with genuine care for people. Her focus on developing talent and lifting standards aligns perfectly with where we’re heading.”
Looking ahead, Siobhan sees her next decade centred on leadership growth and long-term impact.

“My focus is building strong PMs, creating structure and raising standards. If we support our people properly, the entire client experience improves.”
For Siobhan, property management is a profession built on trust, consistency and long-term relationships.
