A NSW Northern Rivers real estate entity operating agencies belonging to a former councillor has been named and shamed for failing to meet trust account audit obligations.
A real estate corporate entity that operates the agencies of former councillor Allison Bryant has been fined $5,500 and put on NSW’s Name and Shame register.
Bryant and Whaites Pty Ltd, based in the Clarence Valley, was added to the list in March.
A NSW Fair Trading spokesperson told the Daily Telegraph that the entity had been found to have breached its obligation to have its trust accounts audited by the required deadline.
Following the findings, the company was fined $5,500 under the Property and Stock Agents Act 2002.
According to the Australian Business Register, four business names are listed as trading under the entity: Allison Whaites Estate Agent, Bryant and Whaites Property Services, Allison Whaites Real Estate Agent, and Ray Black Real Estate.
Recently, multiple NSW property professionals have been put on notice for misconduct and breaches of obligations.
Since its launch in January 2026, the Name and Shame list has allowed consumers to search for agents or property managers to check whether they have any marks on their records, such as fines, suspensions, or licence cancellations.
Recently, the watchdog announced a 10-year disqualification for former Ray White agent Josh Tesolin due to allegations of misconduct, including systematic underquoting, dummy bidding, and high-pressure sales tactics.
The consequences listed on the register also included fines of $11,000 against Tesolin and $22,000 against his business, Tesolin Consulting Pty Ltd.
Last financial year, NSW Fair Trading completed 500 investigations and 300 inspections, resulting in 300 penalty notices worth more than $430,000.
