A custom home building franchise has been reborn under new ownership and management, with an ambitious growth strategy focused on expansion and modernised systems.

David Reid Homes Australia, which entered liquidation in November 2025 after reportedly owing creditors $1.19 million, has relaunched under the leadership of managing director Matt Jackson, who brings a clear growth strategy for the network.

Having relaunched under new leadership, David Reid Homes Australia has brought back nine of its original Queensland, NSW, ACT, Victoria, and South Australia franchisees under the network banner.

Jackson, who brings 18 years of experience in digital marketing, systems development and franchise growth, said the number of businesses that returned to the franchise as part of the revival indicated the brand's standing in the industry.

“That retention speaks volumes,” Jackson said.

“It shows the strength of the builders in this network and the belief in what this brand can become.”

“We are giving them the platform to scale, improve margins and operate at a high level.”

He said the brand would execute a three-phase growth strategy, centred on modernising systems and improving the performance of existing franchises, before expanding the business through recruitment.

Jackson said that one of the biggest opportunities he had identified for the network was implementing modern systems to improve the brand's efficiency and scalability.

“There has been a gap in the systems and support, and that is exactly what we are fixing,” he said.

“When you combine strong builders with strong systems, that is where real growth happens.”

Jackson said that restoring the brand, which has more than 17 years of history, as a major player in the custom homes sector was its primary goal.

“This is a brand with a strong heritage.”

“Our job now is to modernise it, scale it and take it to the next level.”

“We see a huge opportunity to grow this network and lead in the premium space,” Jackson concluded.
