Rooty Hill RSL has its own power plant, hotel and poker machines, and now the club is looking to add postcode to that list.
The leagues club is demanding its own postcode – and someone has already put their hand up to be mayor.
The RSL chief executive officer Richard Errington said the club has more restaurants and bars than whole towns, “so why shouldn’t we have a postcode”.
“It is big enough to be its own suburb and I want to be mayor,” Mr Errington said.
While the postcode bid does not sit well with everyone, Clubs NSW chief executive officer David Costello said he supports the cause.
"If it wasn't for the RSL, Rooty Hill wouldn't have a four-star hotel, a state of the art gym, a new power station or, as of today, a tenpin bowling arcade and a laser skirmish centre," he said.
