CB Richard Ellis chief executive officer Tom Southern is currently a leader in more ways than one – having currently raised the most funds nationally for the St Vincent De Paul annual CEO Sleepout.

The outdoor sleepout, which will take place at 7pm on 17 June 2010, aims to raise money to support Australia’s homeless to aid Vinnies Homeless services across Australia.

With $22,189.74 in donations and support, Mr Southern has managed to stay ahead of major company leaders from Tactical Solutions, Allens Arthur Robinson, and TiVo Australia.

Mr Southern will join hundred’s of business and community leaders sleeping out at Sydney’s Luna Park for the annual event, which will take place in each major capital across Australia.

Mr Southern said that by sleeping rough first hand he hoped to “develop a greater understanding of homelessness and raise community awareness and much needed funds for Vinnies Homeless services.”

As part of the event, business leaders will be provided with a basic soup meal and cardboard for bedding and shelter. The event will go ahead regardless of weather conditions.

Also taking part in the event from CBRE are Adelaide managing director Philip Rundle and Canberra managing director Nick McDonald Crowley.
