Place Real Estate has expanded its Kedron office with a dual-agent strategy, betting on buyer-focused specialists to win in a tightening market shaped by investor tax reform.
Place has appointed sales agent, Jared Webb, and buyer specialist, Wendy Le Compte, to its Kedron office under Place Purpose Group, led by Robbie Lofaro.
The network said Webb and Le Compte had been working together in a bid to foster buyer relationships, ensuring future pipelines.
Before real estate, Webb spent 25 years in hospitality, including 12 years managing banquets at Customs House, before leaving the industry for a more family-focused lifestyle.
With 10 years of experience in real estate, Webb said nurturing buyer relationships and databases were more critical than ever, particularly following changes in the federal budget.
“With changes to negative gearing expected to push more investors toward new builds instead of established homes, competition for the remaining buyer pool is only going to get stronger,” he said.
He said if buyers became scarcer as a result of the new policies, agents who invested in buyer relationships would be best positioned to succeed.
Webb, who services Ferny Grove, Upper Kedron, Ferny Hills and Keperra, added that Place Purpose Group’s growth and leadership made the move an easy decision.
“I really liked where Robbie was taking the business,” he said.
The network said Le Compte was focused entirely on nurturing buyer relationships, matching buyers to properties and guiding them through lengthy property searches.
Bringing eight years of real estate experience and a luxury hospitality background, Le Compte said buyers increasingly needed guidance and reassurance in a competitive market.
“Sometimes we’re speaking to buyers for months before they purchase. They know we genuinely care and are trying to help them,” she said.
According to Lofaro, Webb and Le Compte’s unique approach to selling was a key point of difference, as many teams didn’t have agents purely dedicated to buyers.
“Jared and Wendy have built a business around service, trust, and long-term relationships, and that’s becoming more valuable than ever,” Lofaro concluded.
