When YPA celebrates excellence, it does so properly.
That's why, when more than 300 guests gathered at Melbourne's Glasshouse for the network's 19th Annual Awards Gala, YPA turned to one of Australia's most recognisable media personalities, Eddie McGuire, to host the evening.
McGuire's presence set the tone for what would become one of the most memorable events in the network's history. But while the former television and radio broadcaster brought his trademark energy and professionalism to the stage, the real story of the evening extended far beyond the awards themselves.
The gala was a celebration of achievement, certainly, but it was also a reflection of the culture, relationships and shared journey that have helped shape YPA over the past 19 years.
Guests travelled from across Victoria and Queensland, with office owners, sales agents, property managers, support staff, sponsors and corporate team members all coming together under one roof. The result was an atmosphere that felt less like a corporate function and more like a family reunion, albeit one wrapped in black tie elegance and roaring twenties glamour.
While the venue looked spectacular, it was the people inside it who remained the focus.
For nearly two decades, YPA has built its reputation on a simple belief: real estate is ultimately a people business. Relationships matter. Culture matters. Supporting franchisees matters. The gala provided a reminder that many of the individuals who helped build the network remain part of it today.
In an industry often characterised by movement and change, YPA continues to be defined by the number of long-term office owners, leaders and staff who have chosen to grow their careers within the group. That loyalty was evident throughout the evening as colleagues celebrated one another's achievements with genuine enthusiasm and pride.
It was something that did not go unnoticed by McGuire.
Throughout the night, he repeatedly commented on the connection within the room, observing the camaraderie between offices and the way people celebrated each other's success. For many attendees, it was a powerful affirmation of what they already knew: that YPA's greatest strength isn't a logo, a marketing campaign or a business model. It's the people behind the brand.
"From the moment he took the stage, McGuire brought energy, professionalism and an effortless ability to connect with the audience," said Franchise Manager Kayla Ridolfi.
"One of the things that makes YPA special is the genuine support people have for one another. You could see that throughout the night. Every award winner was celebrated not just by their own office but by the entire network."
"For many guests, Eddie wasn't simply part of the evening. He helped define it," Operations Manager Peter Neally said.
McGuire’s humour, professionalism and ability to engage every corner of the room helped elevate the event creating an experience that felt both polished and personal.
Behind every award winner stood a team of colleagues, mentors, administrators and support staff who had contributed to that achievement. It was a reminder that success in real estate is rarely created in isolation.
That philosophy has played a significant role in YPA's evolution from a small Victorian business into one of the state's largest independent real estate networks. Over the past 19 years, the organisation has continued to expand while remaining focused on the values that helped establish it in the first place: supporting franchisees, investing in people and creating opportunities for growth.
Operations Manager Peter Neally believes those foundations continue to distinguish the network.
"What really stood out was seeing people from every corner of the business come together. Whether someone had been with YPA for fifteen years or fifteen months, there was a genuine sense of belonging. That's something we've worked very hard to build."
As formalities concluded and guests continued celebrating into the evening, attention inevitably turned to the future.
The 2026 gala marked the nineteenth edition of the event. Next year, YPA will celebrate its twentieth anniversary, a milestone that few real estate brands achieve.
