Australia’s peak body representing buyer’s agents has elected a new president who will help set industry standards and support professionals.
The Real Estate Buyers Agents Association of Australia (REBAA) has announced longstanding Brisbane-based buyer’s agent, Zoran Solano, as its new president.
Solano’s election came after Melinda Jennison opted to step down from the role after three years.
Solano, from Hot Property Buyers Agency, was previously the association’s vice president, and has been a buyer’s agent for a total of 17 years.
At 35, he is the youngest REBAA president to be elected since the association was founded in 2000.
Solano said he looked forward to continuing to grow its membership so more buyer’s agents operated to the highest possible standards.
“One of the initiatives I’d like to instigate is increasing members’ benefits, including creating an industry eco-system of like-minded businesses that can share ideas and grow together,” he said.
Solano thanked Jennison for her dedication over the past few years, including creating headway with policymakers so the industry and members were better represented.
In addition to Solano, Oh Property Group’s Henny Rahardja was elected vice president, Propertyology’s Bryan Lougnan was re-elected treasurer, and Home Scouts’ Bronwen Stacey was re-elected secretary.
According to Jennison, the last three years had been an extremely busy time for the association and the sector.
“Some of the highlights have included the strong growth in REBAA membership as well as our increasing profile with consumers and policymakers,” she said.
“It has been a privilege to lead the association, and I wish Zoran, as well as the incoming executive committee, all the best as they forge the next chapter.”
