A national network has bolstered its NSW rural leadership with an industry veteran boasting more than two decades of experience across livestock and property, including building a business.
Elders has strengthened its leadership team, appointing Patrick Bird as NSW rural real estate manager following the acquisition of the property and livestock agency Emms Mooney.
Bird brings more than two decades of experience in rural property, including his role as principal of Emms Mooney, where he will continue on as a director alongside his new role with Elders.
In his new role, Bird said he would prioritise recruitment, team development and mentoring, while strengthening collaboration across its NSW offices.
“A key focus for me will be developing our people, sharing knowledge and experience across the network, and creating more opportunities for agents to grow their businesses and careers,” Bird said.
“By better connecting our agents, buyers, market knowledge, and opportunities, we can deliver an even stronger service and better outcomes for our clients.”
He said that the new role would provide an opportunity to build on the network's existing strengths across NSW.
“We already have some outstanding rural property agents across NSW. I want to build on that foundation and make sure we are working together as a network to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients.”
The network said the appointment formed part of a broader change in its NSW real estate structure, with former state manager Richard Gemmell moving into the role of national transaction and development executive.
Elders general manager, farmland agency and agribusiness investments, Mark Barber, said Gemmell would share his experience through mentoring and on-the-job training for emerging agents.
“His new national role will allow Elders to leverage his experience across the border network, while continuing to support the development of our people.”
“Ultimately, I want Elders to be the first choice for rural property owners across NSW when they are considering selling; combining local expertise with the strength, reach and experience of Elders.”
